Why use a BD Vacutainer® Urine Collection kit for urine collection when I can use just a paper cup?
For simple dipstick urine tests performed at the collection site, a paper cup is acceptable. For urine specimens that need to be transported to the lab, the BD Vacutainer® Urine Collection Kit has a sterile interior. It is the closed system that allows fast, easy transfer of urine from the cup to either a urinalysis tube or a culture and sensitivity tube (C&S), and closed tube transport to the laboratory.
