Why UM’s Washington Internship Experience?
Students select internships according to their areas of interest, like government, the media, or a national institution in a variety of fields, federal agencies, and private industries. International relations, journalism, law, engineering, public relations, business, the arts, political science, pharmacy, accountancy, and criminal justice are among the many specialties that students can pursue. Once accepted into the Washington Internship Experience, a seasoned administrative director based in Washington who serves as mentor will help you arrange your internship. The Washington Internship Experience obtains written contracts signed by the intern, the supervisor, and the administrative director to ensure that every internship is substantive, meaningful, challenging, and professional. The WIE Administrative Director and other UM staff help you craft resumes, writing samples, and cover letters to present your qualifications in the best light. You can earn 9 to 12 hours of academic credit
