Why the Yugoslavia civil war important?
Your question is very broad. There are many aspects of its importance: It was the first war in which NATO attacked a sovereign country. This was done by braking the UN law and practice, with a heavy media manipulation turned against Serbs. It was the first time Germany used weapons after WW2. Yugoslavia was the first successful European multiethnic community, something like a little EU of today. It was a successful one. Germany needed to brake this community for their tribe to run Europe… Checking weaponry and technology is an important thing. NATO gained experience. Also, the media manipulation was at its best. Some 130,000 people were killed in the Yugoslav civil war, 20 tons of depleted uranium, mutual hatred which will last for generations, Serbs ethnically cleansed from Croatia and Kosovo, economic stagnation… The only ones who gained from all that mess was Croatia and Camp Bondsteel.
