Why the woolly mammoths become extinct?

0

Animals become extinct when they cannot pass on enough good genetic information to the next generation to help them survive. i.e, survival of the fittest. It was not because they were hunted! This was a long time ago when people did not factory farm! They were not at great risk from people. some scientists have claimed that they were not fully adaptable to extreme changes in climate, such as oil glands which repelled water from it’s woolly coat. This led to a lot of them dying through cold, as their coats became full of water. This is just one theory. An animal needs to ‘keep up with the times’ as such. They evolve to cope better and better with ever changing hurdles, but can only adapt over a very long period of time. sudden changes of an extreme nature may also wipe out a species, because they have had no time to pass on the survival genes to offspring. Very basic outline!
