Why the straitjacket on the album cover?
Because my music is so schizo, and I’ve always been a little to the left. My Strange Music camp, they all think the way I handle my life and women is crazy at times. So instead of the white suit jacket like Michael Jackson wore, a straitjacket seemed appropriate. What makes this album different from “Everready” and others? The first beat I bought for this album was for “Wheaties.” I bought it from a guy out of Iowa, YoungFyre. I’ve never met the dude and don’t know how I got the beat. But once I heard it, that’s where I set the bar. I thought: This is what I need to get to the next level. It sounded better than anything on “Everready,” which is hard to do. The second beat I bought was for “Pillow Talking” from a guy in St. Louis who works with Nelly and Chingy. His name is Wyshmaster. I heard that one and said, “That’s what I need.” It’s punchy, hardcore with an airy kind of beat.
