Why the silence about EU parliament members expenses?
Of course as this particular parliament’s functions are hardly heard of outside Strasbourg nothing much is known by UK citizens of its machinations. There are and have been expenses fraud by members of the EU parliament ever since its inception. Its always been known as ‘The Gravy Train’. It’s the easiest fiddle box on Earth being very lax in its overall supervision of its members and loath to make its innermost workings public. The few cases of expenses fraud discovered resulted in either resignation or expulsion. The problem with the EU parliament is the differing culture mixes which exist. Each country’s representatives hold, only if slightly, a different social agenda which clashes with those variables held by everyone else. The concept of representatives from nations who historically have opposed each other in one way or another over the years to sit in harmony is nonsense.
