Why the Pagan culture is still strong among Singaporean ?
As you said, its a CULTURE, it just past down from generation to generation. Chinese are conservative after all, some just simply following the tradition from their parents. But I can see that the culture is slowly fading away as time goes by. In the old days, people tends go to religion facilities to seek/consult something that they don’t understand or when they are helpless, something they don’t understand simply could means work of deities/gods. Therefore, plus the priests acted as medium convey the “messages/words” for improvement. To commoners who are not or less educated, they simply wants a solution when they faced problems. Whoever can provide them with solutions, that person/thing will become his/her saviour. In the above case (olden days), most of the time is their deities/gods. Hence the belief remain strong.
