Why the hysteria over Wik?
The labour movement must inscribe in its program the promise to restore to Aboriginal ownership all those lands where they still live and sovereignty over their country. If the controversy over Howard’s Wik Plan has brought any benefit it is that the working class and the Aborigines have the same enemy and the same objective – the expropriation of all the Murdochs, Elliots, Holmes a Courts, MacLachlans and their ilk without compensation and the abolition of private property in the land.
