Why the Dell Inspiron 2500?
There were several factors influencing my decision to buy the Dell Inspiron 2500. First of all, I was attracted to its large array of features for such an economical price. My laptop came loaded with a powerful 700MHZ Intel Pentium III processor, 128MB SDRAM, 10 GB hard drive, 56K V.90 Modem, 4MB video card, 24X CD-Rom, and a large 15 SVGA display. As a technical writer, I run publishing programs that require tons of hard drive space and RAM. I loaded RoboHelp, Framemaker, and Office onto my system to test out the capabilities of my new laptop. I was able to open and run all three programs with only a slight reduction in processing time. On my last laptop, I found that Framemaker would often take several minutes to load and would often crash. After running the program on this laptop for over a month, I can safely say that this laptop runs significantly faster and has only crashed once.
