Why the “cell model” for prayer groups?
Just as growth in the human body is achieved by means of cellular division, growth of apostolate membership is achieved by means Prayer Cell division. How do Prayer Cells Grow? In addition to their own personal fulfillment of Our Lady’s requests, every member of the World Apostolate of Fatima is committed as well to spreading the message of Fatima and assisting others in their fulfillment of the requests. Therefore, every Prayer Cell member is always striving to bring others into both the World Apostolate and their own Prayer Cell. How large should a Prayer Cell be? Since a Prayer Cell is a group, the size begins with two members. Although nothing is etched in stone, it is recommended that Prayer Cells not exceed six to eight members because the larger a group becomes the more difficult it is to schedule a time at which all members of the cell can meet.
