Why the big difference in price between tailored and off-the-peg covers ?
A. The quick answer is that much more material and time is used in their manufacture. Off-the-peg covers basically cover the face of the seat and back using the material from one and a half large sheepskins. With tailored covers most of the panels are fully enclosed, they include skirts around the seat, side panels, and a hood which goes over the top of the back panel. This normally takes three sheepskins per front seat. In addition, our tailored covers are exactly that. Our covers are not stretch to fit, we have to pattern each type of seat individually to ensure a glove fit, . Please note that the hood panel on the back is not fully enclosed as in most cases this would make access to map pockets etc difficult.
