Why the area having high resolution maps appear strange?

NASA processed the raw satellite data from more than 8500 scenes. For making the 15 meter data possible, it used a process which sharpened the resolution to 15 meters with the help of “panchromatic” band of data. The color range of this band is different from the normal one, and so the colors are shifted the purple range. There are possibilities when one scene overlaps the other, and therefore NASA attempted to average the colors from all scenes for avoiding sharp edges between them.
