Why the Alto Connect?

The Alto Connect features something that the mStand and Elevator do not, USB ports. Logitech did something very intelligent and combined a stand and a USB hub together. This was key, while companies like BookEndz make full on “docks” for Apple’s notebooks, they are not the simplest of things to use, nor are they universal. The Alto has one other advantage, because it is solid typing on it is much easier then on the mStand or either generation of Griffin’s elevator. With the two other stands because they are not solid, their is a significant amount of feedback from typing because the stands flex. While the problem does not make typing impossible, it makes it very annoying. The Stand Just Works The stand portion of the product obviously worked fine and preferable to some of its competitors. The USB hub worked great as well, I just plugged it into the port right next to my MagSafe Power Charger and suddenly my Logitech MX Revolution (Mouse), Samsung SCX-4500 (Printer) and Alesis MultiMix
