Why test for cognitive ability?
Cognitive Ability – Hire better performing people. A compelling and long-standing body of research proves that cognitive ability tests (AKA aptitude tests/general intelligence assessments) are the most powerful predictor of future work performance. Simply stated, candidates with higher levels of cognitive ability are more likely to perform at a higher level on the job. Specifically, we recommend the Industrial Proficiency Test Battery (IPT). This series of assessments is designed for use with the manufacturing and processing sectors, the Industrial Proficiency Test (IPT) provides an indication of the extent an individual is able to perform industrial work tasks effectively. Specific items have been developed to measure required knowledge, abilities, and skills that are appropriate to jobs in the manufacturing and processing sectors.
