Why telecommunication coming under Electrical and Electronic Engineering?

0

Telecommunications deal with processing, transmission etc. of signals (sound, image, video etc), which are generally first transduced to electrical signals and then transmitted electromagnetically, so they are manipulated through analog or digital electronic circuits, or via software in computers in cases of digital processing. These applications all fall under the broad field of electrical-onic engineering, while in theory telecommunications is mostly mathematics, not much electronics IMO.
