Why surgery if someone swallows a magnetic object?
It is not the magnetic property that is dangerous but the nature of the foreign object itself. being magnetic it means it is made up of iron or steel, and that is not digestible meaning it will pass through your entire digestive system until reaching a point where it cannot pass through (such as the junction of the small intestine and the large intestine) If it is small enough through pass till the end, it will then make a very unspectacular but painful finish through the anus! This obviously all depends on the size of the ball, and whether you were seing a film/series or a documentary! My tip: surgery or not, do not swallow non-edible objects!
