Why Sunil and Bhavana?
Chitiram Pesudadee is the name of the Tamil film starring Sunil and Bhavana in the lead roles. The film marks the debut of director Mishkin. He is an Electrical Engineer who took up directing due to his interest in films. The film’s casting has raised quiet a few eyebrows in Tamil film industry- why bring in two Malayalis to play the lead roles? The director says, “I felt that only Sunil and Bhavana suited the role perfectly well. They had already proved their acting capabilities in Malayalam. They play the roles of outsiders in this film. So, it suited them even more.” How did an electrical engineer become a director? “Chennai’s book store Landmark made me a director. Dostoevsky is in my blood. I didn’t want to confine myself to engineering alone. I tried to do different things. I fell in love with Kurusawa’s films.
