Why study youth crime in Brownsville?
Juvenile arrest rates have been falling in New York City for years. Brownsville, in Brooklyn, is an exception; more youth are getting arrested there than in other parts of the City. The Youth Justice Board will find out why. Board members will come up with ideas to reduce teen arrest rates and help advise City planners of a new justice center about what can be done to improve the situation in this area.
