Why study Russian literature?
Twice during the XXth century Russia has witnessed revolutionary changes that have not only profoundly affected the lives of its citizens, but have also influenced the course of world history. With the fall of communism and the end of the Cold War, it is now very important to understand this vital region. A study of literature is one of the best ways of learning to understand “the soul” of the Russian people.
