Why Study Philosophy at CSUN?
The Philosophy Department at Cal State Northridge offers a wide variety of courses and options for meeting each student’s individual needs whether you major or minor in philosophy. Even if you do not major or minor in philosophy, you will find a number of courses that are relevant to your major and to many different career choices. In addition to courses in almost all the traditional areas of philosophy, we offer courses in applied philosophy, such as business ethics, sexual ethics, and philosophy of law; courses in Asian philosophy and feminism; and courses that link philosophy to other disciplines, including politics, religion, literature, art, linguistics, the natural and social sciences, mathematics, and computer science. Whichever courses or options you choose, you will find a supportive and cooperative learning environment.
