WHY STUDY INFORMATION PROCESSING AND TECHNOLOGY (IPT)?
Information Processing & Technology is a course of study that provides students with knowledge, skills, processes and understanding of information technology and the way information flows through particular computer systems. It emphasizes problem identification and solution rather than the use of specific applications. IPT is an intellectual discipline that involves the study of information and intelligent systems (IIS), software and system engineering (SSE), human–computer interaction (HCI), and the social and ethical issues (SEI) associated with the use of information technology. All topics studied are guided by subjects relating to university bachelor degrees in Information Technology which enables students to become exposed to the vast number of pathways offered through Information Technology. The students will gain valuable industry related experiences and enhance their knowledge through hands on activities.
