Why study English at Derby?
Here at Derby we offer intellectually stimulating, vibrant English courses. As well as the traditional lectures, seminars and tutorials, you can expect to visit local and national literary sites. Visit our trips and events page to see where we have been. If you don’t want to specialise in one area and want a mix of skills, a joint honours degree could be for you. You can choose to study English with one or two other subjects; there are lots to choose from including History, Creative Writing and American Studies. You can apply to do this degree or BA (Hons) English if you have done A Level English Language; A Level Language and Literature or A Level English Literature.
