Why study automotive technology?
Automotive Technology advances are evident everywhere, from fuel efficiency, engine design, suspension systems to steering components. Sophisticated electronic computer systems now control an amazing number of functions, from lighting and instrumentation to spark advance, air conditioning, braking, and transaxle shifting. As the complexity of automotive technology increases, so does the demand for highly skilled workers who have a thorough knowledge of how automobiles work and can quickly and accurately service today’s vehicles. The automotive technology program at SFCC is certified by the National Automotive Technicians Education Foundation (NATEF), an affiliate of the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Certification signifies the program meets uniform national standards for facilities, equipment, staff credentials and curriculum. All SFCC’s program instructors are ASE certified.
