Bath is rated as one of the top Departments in both Architecture and Civil Engineering in the UK for teaching and research, and the University itself is world-class. Our teaching was rated ‘excellent’ by the Higher Education Funding Council, and in the last Research Assessment Exercise the Department was graded 5 (out of a possible 5), indicating an internationally leading research profile. Our department is unique in the UK, being the only joint Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The city of Bath, with its elegant Georgian architecture, is an ideal setting for the study of both Architecture and Civil Engineering.
