The Institute of Sound and Vibration Research (ISVR) is one of the world’s foremost teaching, research and consulting centres for the study of all aspects of sound and vibration. It is rated at the top grade 5* for research and as 23 out of 24 for teaching quality (QAA). The ISVR offers a programme in Acoustical Engineering leading to either an MEng or BEng degree, and a BSc programme in Acoustics & Music. These unique programmes combine the study of sound and vibration, how they are generated and transmitted, and the relevance of these principles to the attenuation of noise and creation of music.
