Why stress reliving required in fabricated items before machining.?
Stress relieving does several things. First, it brings the component back to a stress free condition so that residual stresses do not need to be accounted when performing strength analysis of the final component. Secondly, there is nothing worse than fixturing a welded structure and doing the final machining only to have it not remain flat/parallel/or whatever due to internal stresses after it is removed from the fixture.
