Why Sport Management at UIndy?
Labeled the “Amateur Sports Capital of the World” the city of Indianapolis has many advantages for the sport management major. Opportunities exist in organizations such as the NCAA, professional sport teams including the Colts, Pacers, Indianapolis Indians, and Indiana Ice; a host of Olympic governing bodies such as USA Track & Field, USA Diving, and USA Gymnastics; outstanding facilities including Lucas Oil Stadium, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, and Conseco Fieldhouse, in addition to recreational sport organizations, and not-for-profit sports organizations. Students in the Sport Management program had the opportunity to work closely with these organizations in class projects and internships and have helped the city host numerous sporting events including the NCAA Final Fours, Big Ten Basketball Championships, Olympic qualifying events, and professional tournaments.
