Why spend a year in Taiwan teaching English?
In Taiwan one person every six minutes dies and goes to hell. In a land of 22,000,000 people, a half million babies are aborted every year and men and woman are bound by a fear they cannot name. In a country where the pursuit of wealth has dulled the longing of heart to know God, how will the light of the glorious gospel ever shine? Decades ago many faithful missionaries labored in Taiwan, trying to bring the love of Christ to this Buddhist nation. While about 1% of Taiwan’s population is now Christian, the church is mostly confined to large cities like Taipei. Many country towns have never been penetrated by the gospel. These areas are very difficult to reach. Jobs are scarce and without a job it is difficult to acquire a long term visa, and the people are passionately resistant to foreigners trying to convert them.
