Why spay or neuter rabbits?
1) Altered rabbits are healthier and live longer. The risk of uterine cancers for an unspayed female is eliminated by spaying her. A neutered male will be less likely to fight causing injuries. 2) Altered rabbits make better companions. They are calmer and more dependable once fixed. They are less prone to destructive and agressive behavior. Spaying a female usually makes her a lot better bunny, they usually will stop behavior such as biting or lunging at you when you reach into their cage. 3) Easier to litter train. Spayed and neutered rabbits are easier to litter trained than ones that have not been spayed or neutered. For males the chance of them spraying urine is drastically reduced plus the strong smell of his urine will decrease. 4) Altered rabbits can have a friend to bond with. If you would like to have more than one rabbit you will need to have them spayed or neutered to prevent fights and unwanted litters.
