Why Singlish is not recognised by Singapore Government?

0

Singlish is the second language in Singapore. Singlish is commonly used by uneducated group of Singaporeans. The Singaporean Government discourage the widely use of Singlish because it is bad language and bad for Singapore’s sober image as a commercial and financial center. In year 2000, the government had launched the Speak Good English Movement (SGEM), in order to encourage Singaporeans to speak grammatically correct English that is universally understood. In Singapore, poor English reflects less intelligent or competent. I couldn’t agree more. My ex-colleague from Singapore email this funny video to me yesterday. I can’t stop laughing and I think it is the best New Year present to share on the web. So, enjoy this funny video below.
