Within the framework of the EuroMediterranean Partnership (Process of Barcelona), Sifra chose to make a contribution to the intensification of the sector of the microfinance as tool of fight against the poverty, the tool of insertion of the women in the formal business and tool of their “empowerment”. Since March 2002 until now, a euro-medierranean Platform for Microfinance has been established. 30 MFIs and NGOs are part of it.
