Why show percentage of traffic instead of total traffic?
Our goal is to help the world understand when our sites or products are unavailable. Showing the total traffic obscures this information by showing events that happen to everyone in the world. Showing fractional traffic allows us to remove events that happen to the whole world and allow users to focus on events that affect a single region of the world.
