Why should the generated solar power initially be sold to EAC?
It’s much more beneficial for the customer to sign up the 15-year contract with EAC since he can either choose to have 55% subsidy and sell the generated power to EAC at the price of 12 cent / kWh or 0% subsidy and sell the generated power to EAC at the price of 22.4 cent / kWh. By choosing whichever one of the two plans, the customer has a two-month income of about CY₤150 (sale at 12 cent) and CY₤280 (sale at 22.4 cent), which basically cancels out the average electricity bill of a household.
