Why should tenants pay the Council Tax in UK?Why is the property owner not paying it?Do they pay any Tax?
I think they should just go back to the old system of rates included in your rent and then the landlord gives that to the government it was fairer and there wasn’t the amount of unpaid rates as there is unpaid Council Tax!!! I don’t know all the ins and outs of why the system changed but it doesn’t seem to be working all I know is that my rent was the same amount before and after these things changed and then I was expected to pay the ridiculous amounts of council tax based on the price of a house I don’t own fair enough the tax goes on my street lights and bins etc… but why does it have to be based on the price of a house I do not own I have been abroad now for a while so maybe they have changed it but it still is a stupid system if you ask me!!!
