Why should supermarkets increase beer prices?

0

Published figures show that 36 pubs close in the UK every week! Yes the breweries are short sighted. When profits fall, they put up prices, so people spend less in pubs, so profits fall further, so prices go up more! Also, with the smoking ban in pubs, many smokers who once enjoyed a pint and a smoke, now buy their beer from supermarkets and drink at home where they can drink and smoke at their leisure. Pubs are closing because of the greedy breweries and the appalling lack of sense shown by the government. What will happen now is, the government will realise that they are losing billions of pounds in taxes because of the pub closures, and simply add a new tax or more tax on other items! £2.5 billion ponds a year is what the governemt has lost in tobacco revenue. So, all the people who support anti smoking ‘congatulations’ you are getting your own way, but f*ck me you are all paying for it!!
