Policy 6000: Attendance is important to students’ academic success. and schools are encouraged to develop incentives for students to have good attendance records. Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School designed C.A.R.E (Creative Alternatives to Receiving Education) as one of the alternatives to motivate students to be on time for each class period. The instructional day begins when the tardy bell rings. All late students must report to the attendance office with an excused note; if the reason is unexcused all students must report to C.A.R.E . 1st Tardy – Teacher Intervention 2nd Tardy – Parent notification and 1 day before or after school detention 3rd Tardy – Referral to Administration Additional discipline may include warnings, parent contact, behavior contract, after school detention, and classroom detention.
