Why should Sneads Ferry incorporate to have services we are already receiving from the county?
A- Services provided by our Village would be better services than what we are currently receiving because they would be tailored specifically to Sneads Ferry’s needs – not the ‘one size fits all’ county standard as decided by politicians who do not even live in our community. In the past few years, we have had homes burn to the ground because our volunteer fire department did not have access to the needed water to put out the fire. In the very recent news, 146 warrants for drugs and prostitution were issued for crimes occurring in Sneads Ferry. (The number of these alleged offenders that have actually been arrested is unknown.) Also very recently, another business in Sneads Ferry has been burglarized. There have recently been instances where small business owners have been charged with zoning violations for handling a portion of their work from their home. Also, on the average, homeowners are currently paying about $210 per year for garbage pickup much more than the typical Sneads Ferr
