Esters have a high fire point (>300°C) and are readily biodegradable. They offer enhanced fire safety whilst being more environmentally friendly. Esters are also far more moisture tolerant than mineral oil, improving cellulose lifetime and allowing extended operation in demanding ambient conditions.
