Why should employees be forced to work in a smoking environment?
No one in Michigan is forced to work in a smoking environment. Workers can decide to leave an establishment that allows smoking and work in a smoke-free environment at any time. Businesses that choose to offer a smoking environment made that decision because it keeps their business competitive and allows them to employ Michigan workers. If the government forces a business with a customer base comprised mainly of smoking customers to ban smoking, there may not be jobs left for these workers.
