Why should cuba develop a sustainable tourism policy?
Cuba has always been in a feudalistic rural situation. With one or two agricultural cash crops and the vast amount of property held by master land lords. This and the strong Spanish-Catholic heritage make it like most Latin countries easy for a dictator to rule. Even through Castro controls, the people allow him because of the heritage and the lack of new immigration that with new people bring in new idea’s and change. The United States could in fact end the communist power in Cuba just like we did in the cold war in Europe without ever firing a shot. How you may ask? Simple, it is actually a Top Secret Military Plan that was worked out right after the start of the Berlin Airlift.
