Why should Black Americans want to save King/Drew Medical Center?
I am a Black American that had to go to medical school in Mexico because I could not get into medical school in the United States, my country! I got jacked out of Medical school in Mexico about the time H.W. Bush got into office. I came back to Los Angeles and worked at the Drew Medical school for almost one year. I never got into Medical school or finished my MD degree. I came back to Los Angeles in 1990. Drew medical school has been graduating more Hispanics and other foreigners from the Drew Medical School than Black Americans until this day. King Medical Center has given more residencies in their training hospital to foreign students than Black Americans. The quality of medical care there is horrible! This is due to lack of funding and the “old time house negro” doctors that will not stand up for their people. Again, I blame “Uncle Tom Bradley’s Cabin” for the sorry state that King/Drew is in today! Why should we keep it open so a few “Good House Negroes” can get paid! I say close
