Why should Betticola Church kill a Hindu monk that resulted in widespread violence against new converts?
On the 23rd August 2008, Swami Laxamananand Saraswati and his four associates were killed by armed Christians at his hermitage at Jaleshpata in Kandhmal in Orissa in India. The Swamiji was protecting about half a million poor and marginalized population in the district against proselytisation by the Catholic, Protestant, Baptist and the Presbyterian Church for last 40 years. The old man was 84 years and lived with the poor like a poor man. He established scools and colleges for their primary and higher education. He emancipated the women by extending equal opportunity for their education in bording Schools and Colleges. In one such bording school where he was staying with the girl inmates to protect them from the Christian youthand hooligans, he was brutally murdered by AK-47 bullets in the hands of killers hired and employed by the Church.
