Why Should A Transit System Be Elevated?
Until you get up and out of traffic, whatever mass transit vehicle you choose will be stuck in the same gridlock which currently afflicts surface streets throughout Seattle. To be really effective and move large numbers of people at high speeds, mass transit needs to be separated from other traffic, so it must be either elevated or buried underground.
