There are two main types of paid surveys you find on the internet: Advertising surveys, and statistical research surveys. The first type is more like an advertisment and is more common in free to join survey sites ; i.e. paid to read emails, paid to read ads, enter to win sweepstakes, etc… to be honest, these surveys are put together by advertising companies (not research companies) to collect your information, show you their ads, and sell you their products. The other type of paid surveys is more of a scientific research ( including focus groups), is conducted by research organizations not by advertisers. These surveys are harder to find because they don’t advertise them as much. The information you give will be used strictly for statistics. They also pay more because they really want your honest opinion , they do not want to sell you anything.
