Why search on ATC level as opposed to drug level?

0

ATC stands for ‘Anatomical Therapeutic Chemical’ classification system. In this system drugs are divided into different groups according to the organ or system on which they act and their chemical, pharmacological and therapeutic properties. By selecting a search on ATC level the result is presented as number of reports for the ATC group as such. Drugs included in the specified ATC group will not be listed individually. An ATC group may be useful as a control group for comparing the result from a search on drug level.
