Why require JavaScript and cookies?
JavaScript: Scripting is needed in order to create pages that have functionality for things like maps. Because scripting is required for these functions, we assume that it is enabled on your browser and use it for other functions, as well. Cookies: Cookies allow us to keep track of who you logged in as so that your data sets are available to you. The cookie will be deleted when you log out or close your browser. Cookies are a more secure way to do this than other methods.
