Why require automobile liability insurance if the entity we are working with is not going to be regularly transporting our staff, students or hauling our equipment?
Automobile liability insurance pays for bodily injury or property damage to someone other than the owner of the automobile rising out of the use of an automobile. Automobiles owned or operated in Nevada are required by law to have liability insurance. The NSHE requires automobile liability to protect our employees and students from injury or damage while one of an entity’s vehicles is operating on our campus or being used to take an NSHE’s employee or student on incidental travel. ADDITIONAL INSURED ON AN AUTOMOBILE POLICY – Business automobile insurance policies include a statement know as an omnibus insuring clause. This makes NSHE an additional insured on the policy and makes it unnecessary request being named an additional insured for this coverage.
