Why raise awareness of prostate cancer?
• Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men in the UK. • 35,000 men are diagnosed with prostate cancer every year in the UK. • One man dies every hour of prostate cancer in the UK. Yet, despite these alarming statistics, an astonishing 70% of adults in the UK still do not know what the prostate does, let alone about prostate cancer itself, which is why it is essential for us to raise awareness. Research into prostate cancer needs to tell us more than just how to cure prostate cancer. We need to know how to prevent it, how to detect it and how to save lives. More money into prostate cancer research is the only way to fill these huge gaps in our knowledge about the disease. We need your help to: • Inform more people about prostate cancer; who is at risk, how they can get help, what treatments are available. • Raise awareness about prostate cancer, tell your story to the media so more people are aware about this disease and how it effects men’s lives not to mention their family and
