Good question, but I have to contradict you a little, because in India racism regarding the colour of the skin does exist as well and unfortunately still there are many people who believe that if lighter the skin, more beautiful the person… I think this is the result of such a long British domination, because the whites regarded themselves as superior and people started to associate white / fair skin with superiority. And the Indians who come originally from Uganda do still look down on the black people… I know it sounds so dreadful, but unfortunately it is true… many they still associate black skin with bad persons and somehow inferiority to them… There are many faces of racism, some people show their racist ideas openly and others keep them hidden under the surface and show in public their politically correctness.
