Why r more people right handed than left and why r u more likely to be left handed if u r a twin?

We know that the two spheres of the brain (left and right) have entirely different functions but no-one seems quite certain if the wiring is different in left handed people. Certainly, as previously said, there are developmental and environmental reasons why a person might be left or right handed. In a largely right-handed society children who have no particular preference may just find it easier to be right-handed or teachers and parents might encourage it without even realising they are doing so. And positioning in the womb will affect handedness in the case of twins. But there are also genetic factors – I have known families which have produced much more than their statistical proportion of left handers (although I suppose you could argue that this is also an environmental factor).
